It’s an arena, not a rink.

The rink is in the arena.

Semantics, pedantics.
Weird fact for you: Zamboni is a California company.

And the original Zamboni was built on a surplus Army jeep. I used to have an Original Six Zamboni shirt that showed the Zambonis in the first stadiums. Sadly, I lost it somehow.

Fun! I get to see my Bruins in a couple of weeks when they come down here to beat the Sharks. Always a good time there.

I’ve seen the Bruins live once, in about 1972 at the old Chicago Stadium. That was a w ild night. Don’t remember who won. We were at the end, and I remember seeing Tony Esposito in goal. Been a Blackhawks fan all my life.

That final pass they make, the last bit of rough ice, brings a certain calmness to my heart. Or it's all the 16oz Coors lights that got hammered mid period.
dumpsterfire!

Insert snarky comment about the Zamboni driver coming in to play goalie and beat the Maple Leaf s here.

That’s awesome ! The game was a bit different back then. Right in the middle of expanding and facing competition from the newly formed WHA. If it was the ‘71-’72 season, that was the last time Boston won the Cup until 2011. And that must have also been right around the time both Tony and Phil Esposito were at the peak of their careers.
My earliest games were in Boston back in the late 80's. But I try to go catc h them in San Jose anytime they’re here.

I’m a hockey fan, but no historian. And honestly, 72 is just a guess, based on family history (divorces, etc). I just remember growing up and watching Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Tony Esposito, Dennis Hull. Yeah, it was a very different game. It would be fun to watch a game from back then.

I don't know. They kinda look like Olympia Ice Resurfacers. I gotta get to a game this year.
